My name is Chani, I'm 30, married and I have a two-year old son. I'm a very creative person and I always have too many ideas and not enough time to realize them all. So every single minute I'm not busy with my family, I'm working on my crafts. I'm never ever bored!
Mi chiamo Chani, ho 30 anni sono sposata e ho un bimbo di 2 anni. Sono una persona molto creativa e ho sempre molte idee e poco tempo per realizzarle. Così ogni singolo minuto che ho libero dalla famiglia, lavoro sulle mie creazioni. Non mi annoio mai!
In my shop Blanc & Caramel I have a wide range of different vintage inspired and shabby chic things, for example a little papeterie with cards and tags; decorations for the home like scented sachets and garlands, and jewelry made with Parisian flea market finds. I live in Paris and the fact that my items are really made in Paris, preferably with French products, is something that attact a lot of customers who dream about visiting or just having something from this beautiful place.
Nel mio negozio B&C ho un vasto assortimento di oggetti di ispirazione vintage e shabby, ad es. articoli di cartoleria come biglietti e etichette; decorazioni per la casa come sacchetti profumati e ghirlande, e gioielli creati con quello che trovo nei mercatini di Parigi. Vivo a Parigi e il fatto che molti articoli siano fatti a Parigi, con prodotti francesi, è qualcosa che affascina molti clienti che sognano Parigi o sognano di avere qualcosa proveniente da questo posto meraviglioso.
How did you started your shop?
Come hai iniziato il tuo negozio?
I started about six months ago. It was a short time after I completely fell in love with the white, vintage and shabby country style. Since I've always loved crafting, I decided to create them first for myself, and then even open a shop. Having a shop has always been my dream. What could be better than being appreciated by so many people and knowing that my own work is now in homes all over the world? To know that they give my creations as a gift to someone that is special to them and make this person smile? This is my motivation.
Ho iniziato circa 6 mesi fa. Da poco mi ero innamorata dello stile shabby e vintage. Siccome ho sempre amato creare, ho deciso di farlo prima per me stessa, e poi di aprire un negozio. E' sempre stato il mio sogno aprirne uno. Cosa c'è di meglio che essere apprezzata da tante persone e sapere che i miei lavori si trovano in tante case in tutto il mondo? Sapere che le mie creazioni verranno regalate a qualcuno di speciale che lo faranno sorridere? Questa è la mia motivazione.
I have created two shops, one is the main shop on www.blancetcaramel.com with the entire collection and prices in euros, which is mainly visited by European customers (international customers are very welcome too) and an Etsy shop with a small selections of my items.

Where do you find inspiration?

Paris mon amour! I love this city so much. I have moved from Switzerland to Paris four years ago when I got married to a Parisian. You can imagine how romatic it is to be married here! How exciting it was to discover the city, the old Parisian flair, the elegant buildings, the lovely shops, the flea market with their truly unique antiques and vintage finds. That is so inspiring and treasure hunting for real! In those surroundings, my creativity is often overflowing. I love it!
A Parigi! Adoro questa città. Mi sono trasferita a Parigi dalla Svizzera 4 anni fa quando sposai un parigino. Potete immaginare quanto sia romantico sposarsi a Parigi! Quanto eccitante scoprire la città, l'atmosfera del passato, gli edifici eleganti, i negozi, i mercatini con le antichità e le scoperte vintage. Tutto questo è una vera ispirazione e una caccia al tesoro. In una tale atmosfera la mia creatività spesso abbonda. Come mi piace!
