Une antique maison de Provence

I have to say it

I think there's much stuff in this house

Maybe too much

But I couldn't help publishing because the effect is stunning

as always when we're talking of French styling

Penso ci sia troppa roba in questa casa

Forse troppa

Ma non posso fare a meno di pubblicarla

perchè l'effetto è rimarchevole

come sempre quando si parla di stile francese

The structure of the house itself is weird

Look at how pictures are hung

I've always liked homes full of prints

I think a beautiful picture makes a lot in a room

But since I have my home I've discovered the beauty of

a more cleaned look

I closed my many pictures on a closet

Especially reproductions of famous pictures

Now I really can't stand them

La struttura della casa in sé è particolare

Basta vedere come sono appesi i quadri

Mi sono sempre piaciute le case piene di quadri

Penso che un bel soggetto faccia tanto in una stanza

Ma da quando ho arredato casa mia ho scoperto la bellezza

di un muro più pulito

Ho chiuso i miei tanti quadretti in un armadio

Specialmente le rirpoduzioni di quadri famosi che ora

non posso più sopportare

I like the use of mirrors, lamps, vases

When displayed correctly and with moderation they can add some true charm

Mi piace l'uso di specchi, lampade e vasi

se combinati in modo corretto e con moderazione possono aggiungere

un tocco di stile davvero unico

I must confess

I don't like old things so much

I mean

I so love to see them in other homes or markets

but I have a certain distrust of everything which is not new

or  belonged to someone I don't know

I feel the appeal of a vintage object, his story, his origin

but in the end I choose new things in the shape of antique

Devo confessare

che non amo molto le cose antiche

Mi spiego

Adoro vederle nelle case altrui o nei mercatini

ma ho una certa diffidenza in tutto ciò che è stato usato

o che apparteneva a qualcuno che non conosco

Subisco il fascino di certi oggetti vintage, la loro storia, la provenienza

ma alla fine scelgo ciò che ha solo la forma del passato

I also like plants and flowers

They add natural colours and fit everywhere

I'm not much into fake flowers

unless they are pretty good like Sia ones

They seem really original

My favourite flowers are hydrangeas and peonies and daisies

I can't wait to have some fresh bouquets to decorate my living room

Mi piacciono molto anche le piante e i fiori

Portano una nota di colore molto naturale e si adattano a qualsiasi ambiente

Ma non amo molto i fiori finti

a meno che non siano davvero belli come quelli di Sia

che sembrano proprio originali

I miei fiori preferiti sono le ortensie, le peonie e le margherite

Non vedo l'ora di poter avere in salotto qualche bouquet fresco

I'm still not completely satisfied with decorating my bedroom

that's why I still haven't showed a pic

I'm not much convinced of the colour chosen so I'm secretly fancying about

painting it again.......

I didn't know how to decorate the wall over bedstead

I've chosen a metal frieze similar to one in the photo above

Non sono ancora soddisfatta con la decorazione della camera da letto

ed è il motivo per cui non vi ho ancora mostrato una foto

Non sono molto convinta del colore delle pareti e sto

segretamente pensando di cambiarlo.....

Non sapevo come arredare la parete sopra il letto

poi ho optato per un fregio in metallo simile a quello nella foto in alto

I like distressed furniture but only if doesn't appear too ruined

like in the picture above

I love to see how old furniture is turn into a new piece

by some extreme painting

but the effect must be a natural one and one should be very good in that

Mi piacciono i mobili invecchiati ma solo se non sembrano troppo

rovinati come quelli nella foto qui sopra

Mi piace vedere come un vecchio mobile può essere reinventato

con una bella mano di vernice

ma l'effetto deve essere davvero naturale e deve essere fatto da chi è davvero capace
