Our journey started

in a rainy and windy

Paris

The weather wasn't that good

I haven't taken much photos

Il nostro viaggio è cominciato
in una piovosa e ventosa
Parigi
Il tempo non è stato dei migliori
Non ho nemmeno fatto molte foto

My favourite place in Paris is

Montmartre

Place du Tertre

La Mere Catherine

Painters all around

Souvenirs shops

The atmosphere is

unique
I always feel very excited
when in Montmartre

But in Paris all our

 misadventures

begun

My friends lost their bag with documents in

Place des Vosges

We spent some time at the police

-La Gendarmerie-

But nothing could be done to find them

Ma a Parigi sono iniziate pure
le nostre disavventure
I miei amici hanno perso la loro borsa con i documenti
a Place des Vosges
Siamo stati alla
gendarmerie
Ma purtroppo non siamo riusciti a ritrovare
niente

We left Paris heading to Normandy

And stopped in the nearby by the Seine

where Impressionists used to paint at

La Grenouillére

Da Parigi ci siamo diretti in Normandia
Fermandoci presso la Senna
dove gli Impressionisti andavano a dipingere
alla Grenouillere

There we almost had

a car accident

Yes

right

Anyway

we were able to drive safe to the region of

Cotentin

Lì abbiamo schivato per miracolo
un incidente con un camion

Esatto
Comunque
alla fine siamo riusciti ad arrivare illesi
nella regione del Cotentin

A wonderful peninsula

Cliffs on the ocean

Crystal sea waters

Cows everywhere
Amazing beaches

Stone cottages

Ancient castles

Fisherman's small villages

Una penisola meravigliosa
Scogliere a picco sull'oceano
Mare cristallino
Mucche al pascolo ovunque
Cottages in pietra
Spiagge fantastiche
Antichi castelli
Villaggi di pescatori

Sometimes I wondered

Am I in France or in Ireland?

The landscape is very suggestive

A volte pensavo di trovarmi più in Irlanda
che in Francia
I luoghi erano molto suggestivi

We rented a pretty and comfortable cottage
near Cherbourg

with an amazing garden

fresh vegetables and homemade jams

kindly offered by the landlord

Abbiamo preso in affitto un cottage
vicino Cherbourg
con un giardino bellissimo
Verdure fresche e marmellate fatte in casa
offerte generosamente dai padroni di casa

During those tranquil evenings by the fire

I learnt

cross-stitching

-my new passion-

On our last day in Normandy

we had planned to visit Guernsey

It was a windy and grey morning

-I was a bit scared by the sea
especially after I saw the lighthouse on in the distance-

We never took the ferry
{I must confessed I felt extremely relieved}
Do you remember that my friends lost their documents?
Well
the custom people didn't let us pass

Nel nostro ultimo giorno in Normandia
avevamo pianificato la visita a Guernsey
Era una mattina grigia e tempestosa
-Ero un po' spaventata dal mare
soprattutto dopo aver visto a distanza il faro azionato-
Non abbiamo preso quel traghetto
{confesso di essermi sentita estremamente sollevata}
Ricordate che i miei amici avevano perso i documenti?
Beh
alla dogana non ci hanno lasciati passare

They said that we could take the ferry

but in Guernsey

we would have been stopped and kept in

custody

{CUSTODY????}

until they could sent us back to France

with the next ferry

Ci hanno detto che potevamo anche imbarcarci
ma una volta a Guernsey
ci avrebbero tenuti in custodia
{CUSTODIA???}
finché non ci avrebbero rispediti in Francia
col prossimo traghetto in partenza

My friends and I were already thinking about

a short trip to

Lourdes...

Then we heard in the evening news about

the bomb alert...in Lourdes!!!!!......
It was really funny

Con i miei amici stavamo già pensando a una breve sosta
a Lourdes....
Poi al tg della sera abbiamo sentito dell'allarme
attentato.....a Lourdes!!!!.....
E' stato molto divertente

Anyway

we're still laughing about our misadventures

In the whole

I can say it was a pleasant time

a bit short maybe

Comunque
ridiamo ancora delle nostre disavventure
Nel complesso
posso dire che è stata una vacanza divertente
anche se breve

 

Now I'm ready to finish works at home

This morning
I've been to Ikea to buy the

sofa

kitchen tables and chairs

Ora sono ricaricata per finire i lavori in casa
Sono stata a Ikea a comprare
il divano
il tavolo della cucina e
le sedie

 

I will show you some pictures as soon as

I have assembled the rest of furniture

Have faith, I can do it!!!
