But it took

visits at Ikea

Ma mi ci sono voluti
quattro
e dico quattro
visite all'Ikea

It all begun 2 weeks ago-

A whole afternoon spent
planning my kitchen at ikea store,
a lovely girl but a bit confused,
after hours of projecting
finally saved my file.
But I was not convinced about how she
planned the room
not sure about how she used the measures
I gave her
Tutto iniziò 2 settimane fa-
un pomeriggio intero per
progettare la mia cucina Ikea
con una ragazza simpatica ma un po' confusa
dopo ore di porgettazione
finalmente abbiamo salvato il file.
Ma non ero convinta di come aveva progettato
gli spazi in base alle misure che le avevo dato.



I went home and did a second project
all by myself
Indeed her planning was not right
Così, sono tornata a casa e ho fatto
un secondo progetto per conto mio.
E scoprìi infatti che il suo era sbagliato.

The day after
I went back to Ikea
with some changes to the original project
Il giorno seguente
tornai a Ikea
con le modifiche al progetto originale

But
the original file
my file
got
lost
l-o-s-t
Ma il file originale
il mio file
era andato
perduto.


So
we had to make a
brand
new
project
with a
brand
new
 girl
Così abbiamo dovuto fare
un progetto
nuovo
con una ragazza
nuova...


Can you imagine what it means?
Another afternoon spent at Ikea
explaining, projecting, insulting the pc that lost my file...
Potete immaginare cosa significa?
Un altro pomeriggio passato a Ikea
spiegando, progettando, insultando il pc che aveva perso
il mio file.


Anyway
after some more hours
the project was done.
The problem was that their kitchen planner
didn't figure my measures very well.
The girl kept telling me that they were wrong.
Wrong?
Ad ogni modo
dopo alcune ore
il progetto fu completato
Il problema era che il planner ikea
non riconosceva le misure che gli avevo fornito.
La ragazza continuava a dirmi che erano
sbagliate.


I panicked
After that I was really unsure that my measures
(that I took hundreds of times)
were not correct
How could I order the kitchen without being so sure?
Andai nel panico.
Alla fine ero davvero insicura delle misure
che avevo preso (centinaia di volte)
Come potevo ordinare una cucina senza essere sicura?


I  went home
(with no kitchen yet)
and phoned to one of my best friends
who is a surveyor
and beg him to take a survey more precise
of my kitchen
(the truth is that I had lost the measures that my brother-who is a surveyor too-
had taken for me weeks ago)
Tornai a casa
(senza una cucina)
e telefonai a un caro amico che fa il geometra
e lo supplicai di venire a prendere i rilievi della mia cucina
(la verità è che avevo perso le misure che mio fratello-anche lui geometra
aveva precedentemente preso per me)


So on Saturday afternoon
-day 3-
I returned to Ikea
again
and prayed that they could find my file
Così, sabato pomeriggio
-terzo giorno-
tornai a ikea
ancora
e pregai che trovassero il mio file


This time
I was served by a girl who was
veeeery slow
So
I spent about 2 hours waiting for her to
control
revise
and finally
submit the order
Stavolta
fui servita da una ragazza che era moooolto lenta
così dovetti aspettare circa 2 ore
che controllasse, correggesse e infine inviasse l'ordine.

I was so happy!
I finally had my kitchen!
Ero così contenta!
Finalmente avevo la mia cucina!


Do you think the story was over?
Nooooooo
Pensate che la storia sia finita?
Nooooo


Yesterday
a girl from
the kitchen department
phoned me and told me
"Good morning Miss Zaira,
we are ready to deliver your order
for next Tuesday
but I see that
You haven't ordered the fridge.
Is it correct?"
Ieri
una ragazza dell'ufficio cucine
mi ha telefonato dicendomi
"Buongiorno signora Zaira,
abbiamo in consegna la sua cucina
per martedì prossimo
ma vedo dall'ordine che non è stato incluso
il frigorifero,
è corretto?"


The fridge?
The fridge?
Il frigorifero?



What do you think I have done this morning?
Cosa pensate che abbia fatto questa mattina?

I returned
to Ikea
to purchase
a fridge
my fridge
the fridge that someone forgot to enclose
in my order.
Sono tornata a Ikea
per comprare
un frigorifero
il mio frigorifero
il frigorifero che qualcuno
si è scordato di includere all'ordine


The fact is:
I was lucky for my fridge was in stock
so next week
my kitchen will be delivered
Il fatto è:
sono stata pure fortunata che il frigorifero
era in stock
così settimana prossima
verranno a consegnare la cucina


I should be
happy
Dovrei essere felice


But the truth is
I feel
scared...
La verità è che mi sento
terrorizzata...
